Ingredients:
4 big potatoes
3-4 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp sesame or olive oil
1 tsp butter
salt and pepper to taste
Method:
Grate the potatoes and squeeze the water out completely. Crush the garlic and mix it well with the potatoes.
Add 1 tbsp sesame or olive oil and 1 tsp butter to a cast-iron pan. Spread the potato in a layer and sprinkle salt and pepper as per taste.
Press gently and cover the lid. Cook on medium flame for about 5 minutes. Start bringing the potatoes from the edges to form a smaller circle. Check if the bottom portion is brown and can be easily flipped. Otherwise, cover the lid and let it cook for a couple of minutes.
Now you can just flip carefully and let it cook for another 5 minutes. Sprinkle salt and pepper on this side too. Check to see if the potatoes are cooked and golden brown on the other side too.
You may garnish with any herb or add any spice for added flavor. Cut into 4 portions or any desired shape. Serve the crispy hash browns with ketchup or any chutney for breakfast or use them as a side dish with your meal.
