There is an endless list of sugary products in the market, some obvious and some that have hidden sugar. Stay away from these products as much as possible. We cannot avoid sugar if we are having desserts outside the home. 

We can minimize sugar when we are making desserts at home. The sweetness can come from natural food sources like fruits, raisins, figs, dates, etc. I also use jaggery instead of white sugar in most of the desserts. But some products available in the market like condensed milk, ice cream, cookies, chocolates, etc. that are used for making some desserts do have sugar in them, so use them judiciously.

Control sugar and remain active. There are many ways to satisfy sugar cravings. All we need to change is slowly adapt our taste buds to natural sources of sweetness. It takes time but can be done.
